Kutas Viktor continues his winning streak and is in incredible form!On the biggest cobble race of the 2nd division against many great riders he was victorious!
Taking the first place in this long and very difficult stage with a few hills and extremely hard cobblestone paves is a real honor.
Heres the interview:
(Kutas Viktor, after the stage near the bus)
-Congratulation Viktor you did it!I know we always ask this but how do you feel at the moment?
-I cant describe it really.Feels like when you climb a mountain and take a fresh breath while looking at the sky, filled with satisfaction.
I was amazing for it,I was training for it,And i won it.My best race so far.
-How would you summarize the stage?
-Well..no breakaways, would be supprising for someone who didnt watch the stage. The tempo was so high because we didnt want to give them a chance.Instead of attacking from the peloton, many riders dropped from the pack so only the strongers and a few of their teammates left.So we slowly exhausted the riders until only the captains had power left ,and we saw it in the sprint.
-What about the last kilometre?
-The hardest kilometer man... .
Oskar Granat opened up with an early sprint so i had to react as fast as i could, locked onto his wheel, followed up then looked behind my shoulder i saw only one rider who had enough for a sprint, and that was Antonio Neves. So it was up to the 3 of us,the peloton was a few meters behind, containing the tired teammates who worked for us the whole stage.
I knew i have to leave the slipstream behind Oskar otherwise Antonio would start sooner,i felt strong enough so I made another effort to boost my speed. When i crossed the line it was an amazing,I didnt feel tired anymore as i heard the crowd...it was beatiful.I gotta thank all of my teammates because they worked really hard for me.
-Anything else thats circling in your mind right now?
-Actually yes.
Frasco Montana i want to see your team back in division 2 again mate.I want to race against you after Ankara.
I feel stronger than ever.
